I MADE THE LOCAL NEWS!!!

A reporter and camera crew were in the park to cover a story about laughter yoga. I just happened to be at the class, they saw me, and wanted to know a bit more about me and how laughter yoga is therapy for my MS. I became the featured person in the report.

So here you go!

MS and Laughter Yoga. Nicole Lemelle explains how she uses laughter yoga to deal with MS.

Wasn’t that FABULOUS! I can’t thank the reporter, Nancy Parker of Fox 8, enough!

  1. you are amazing you look great and congrats on being able to stand. Your strength makes me speechless. Thank you so much for sharing yourself.

  2. I think being sick requires a certain attitude if one is determined to be happy. I was told in an MS group for Men, “Until you can laugh and poke fun at yourself for your symptoms, they own you. They can control how you behave. When you can laugh about them, it shows you’ve accepted them and are no longer willing to let them drive your life.” This came from the man who told me to laugh off tracks in the underwear as bad gas and keep a spare pair in the car. As he said, fart jokes never get old, and the best ones are the ones untold but known to and experienced by all. I can honestly say, speaking to a packed auditorium is nothing when my first thought is “With this many people, nobody will know if I smell like poo.” This thought usually lets me smile as i approach the Mic.

Another funny from life with MS:
For most of the first two years I had MS, I experienced L’Hermites sign. Honestly I kind of miss the L’hermites (sp?)sign. It used to make me laugh, especially at the end when it was just a tingly sensation in the groin whenever I looked down. It used to happen every time I looked down to pick up after my dogs. I’d chuckle to myself and wish for that sensation at a more appropriate time than picking up poop.

So chuckle and laugh away. It’s good for us.

    1. Great article Nicole,
Just watched the You Tube and its good that your story was shared with such a large audience and I got a nitrous oxide rush!!

  3. Oh my goodness, this truly is a crack up!!! I’m going to spread the word on my blog, this is to fun to pass up! How fun to be in class when the local news shows up!! It really is fun and inspiring!

  4. The rest of the world is only a giggle away – a few Australians know about you now! Next time I fall over I promise to laugh!

  5. Nicole, you’re a star! 🙂 I have always handled stress with a sense of humor. If things get too tense at work, I’m the one cracking a joke or teasing to put a smile on someone’s face – I don’t allow anyone to take things too seriously. Laughter truly is good medicine and you looked like you were having a great time!
